We are hiring biomechanics experts
Speed Forensics is expanding across the United States and Canada. We are looking for engineers and scientists who can do rigorous work and explain it plainly.
The role
Forensic biomechanist, part time or full time
You would analyze real incidents, write opinions that carry your name, and defend them in deposition and at trial.
Forensic work suits people who like bounded problems with real consequences. The analysis has to be correct, the reasoning has to be legible to a non‑engineer, and both get tested by someone whose job is to find the weak point. Academic rigor transfers well; the part most people have to learn is brevity.
We accommodate part‑time arrangements, including for candidates holding academic or clinical positions, and cases are assigned to fit both your expertise and your capacity.
What we look for
- PhD in biomechanics, mechanical engineering, kinesiology, or a related field
- Working knowledge of injury mechanics and human tolerance literature
- Clear technical writing under deadline
- Willingness to testify, or to be trained for it
- Prior forensic or litigation support experience is useful, not required
Also useful
- Musculoskeletal modeling and simulation
- Accident reconstruction or vehicle dynamics
- Motion capture, EMG, or instrumented testing
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer
